The Catholic Church discriminates against women.

Why are religious institutions like the Catholic Church above the law? They are extent from taxation and completely free to commit whatever discrimination they feel like, specially gender discrimination.

Businesses wouldn’t be allowed to get away with this crap, so why are they?

Enough of that bullshit, tax the churches and force them to follow the law. Things like the Establishment Clause are used as a safe heaven for hatred and bigotry and it’s time for them to go the way of the dodo.

Vatican says will excommunicate women priests.

On a more passionate note: Fuck the Catholic Church and fuck the society that said it was acceptable for them to try to brainwash me during my entire childhood.

So what can I do? Fight fire with fire. I’m going to plant the seed of doubt in as many young catholics as I can. Most are probably too brainwashed or afraid of social repercussion but some will ask themselves “How do I know this isn’t all made-up bullshit?”.

I’m back.

Sorry for not updating before, I’ve spent most of my time playing Diablo II online. After almost six years of playing on single player, playing on a server is like playing a whole new game.

Last week I presented my admission exam for college. The career I’m going to study is a lot like robotics. I got in with ease last year but now, after months of not opening a single school book, I don’t think I’m going to make it. It’s okay, it’s not like I really want it anymore. It’s a 10 mile trip and a lot of work.

I’m thinking about getting a job close to home. I realize that without a degree I won’t make that much money but I’m young, single, debtless and not that ambitious really.

I’ll take a few more days off before deciding what to do.

Shark is no more :(

Today I learned that one of my favorite shows, Shark, has been canceled.

At first this one looks like any other generic procedural drama out there, but there is more to it than that.

James Woods, the main actor, made sure of that by getting rid of most of that loathsome expository dialogue written by people who thinks we’re morons.

The plotlines weren’t like the ones in Law & Order, where characters just do what they’re supposed to do (well, most of the time anyway).

Shark is the kind of character we’ve come to love, a maverick that does what he thinks needs to be done regardless of the rules, like Jack Bauer or Gregory House. I don’t want to see someone just follow the rules and do what he’s supposed to do, not only because that hardly provides for good conflict and character development but because being so strict about the rules, like most people in real life, dehumanizes the characters a little. Like Jack McCoy sending someone who’s not a monster to prison for life. It provides for good drama, but it’s sometimes painful to watch.

Obviously, because of their unethical and even criminal actions, there will come a point where the show doesn’t seem that plausible anymore (See: 24), so I guess Shark’s cancellation before it jumped… well, you know, it’s kind of a blessing.

I hope they make a Season 1 and 2 DVD set without the annoying daughter.

Today is West Virginia.

And we all know Hillary is going to win. The thing is, we knew the same thing back in April, in Pennsylvania. We knew if she didn’t win by a large margin it would be a meaningless victory. Yet the media was all over that, talking about her “making a comeback” and creating “serious doubts” about Obama.

Same thing will most likely happen today. We know she will win West Virginia but it doesn’t matter. Ever since last week (where she won Indiana by a meaningless margin and lost NC miserably) Obama has surpassed her only lead left, the superdelegates.

In other words, Obama’s lead has grown so strong it’s impossible for her to win.

I think the reason a lot of people don’t like Hillary, which is strange because both of them stand for the same things with very few differences, is because she comes off as a bossy mom and many men don’t like that at all. I know I don’t.

So, apparently, America was ready for a black President before being ready for a woman President. Try again in 50 years.

Airport Security: Leave them with nothing to search.

Apparently it is not only legal for airport security in the US to check your computer and mobile phone but now it is also acceptable for them to save files from them. The only solution I see for this is wiping your hard drive clean (several passes) and leaving nothing but a clean installation of the OS and if you need to access certain files upload them somewhere (and delete browser cache with Eraser after accessing them obviously). Don’t leave anything on your hard drive or physical media that says anything about you (bookmarks, images, documents, videos, songs, any type of history/cache, etc). Even the Windows Registry keeps a lot of information about your activities which is why I recommend a clean system installation before traveling. Of course that’s for those of us who hate having people going through our stuff, but I’m sure most don’t mind or else there’d be a lot more noise about this.

I think the consumers need to say enough and do something politically so the airlines will once again treat them like clients and make reasonable, non-invasive searches.

I mean what do they expect to find? deathtoamerica.com on my bookmarks? I somehow doubt terrorists will be that stupid.

All they’re accomplishing with these is piss people off and catching a few stupid pedophiles.

Exclusive: tougher security checks to enter US as laptops and mobile phones searched

Tourists visiting the US face even tougher security checks now airport officials can search through mobile phones and laptops.

Guards can download any details contained in the items and keep them indefinitely, following a new court ruling.

The latest legislation could mean lengthier queues as security copy photos, emails and phone records. Visitors already face hour-long waits while armed officers take fingerprints and photos.

Travel agents’ group Abta stormed: “It’s another ratcheting up of Fortress America. It’s certainly not a good thing for passengers – it is rather Big Brother.”

There are also fears immigration staff may mistakenly corrupt or erase vital computer details. Abta added: “We’d like to know if they’re going to be properly trained to check computers and conduct many spot checks they plan to carry out.”

Dr Guy Bunker, of UK-based IT security experts Symantec, said: “Hopefully, they won’t search everybody’s data – or we may wait in line for weeks. There’s also the chance of data being compromised.”

He added that some business travellers particularly were now so alarmed they may fly to America with blank laptops.

It comes after a US Appeal Court ruled Los Angeles airport officials acted lawfully when a random search found child porn on a passenger’s computer.

Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain said: “Reasonable suspicion is not needed for customs officials to search a laptop or other personal electronic storage devices.”

But Shami Chakrabarti, of civil rights group Liberty, insisted: “It’s one thing to look for drugs and explosives, another to conduct data trawls without suspicion.”

Section 38 of the US visa form asks: Do you seek to enter the United States to engage in export control violations, subversive or terrorist activities, or any other unlawful purpose? Are you a member or representative of a terrorist organization as currently designated by the U.S. Secretary of State? Have you ever participated in persecutions directed by the Nazi government of Germany; or have you ever participated in genocide?

China blocks Blogger: How to bypass it.

The CCP is just giving us more and more reasons to hate and, yes, fear it. The saddest part is that the vast majority of young Chinese, even the ones studying abroad, are brainwashed and more than ready to justify whatever the CCP does. They are mindless zealots. If you don’t believe me, go to Asiafinest or the Anti-CNN Forums but beware: Broken English lies ahead.

So basically China has blocked access to all of Blogger’s blogs and since this isn’t on Blogger here’s a guide on how to bypass said block:

Several bloggers in India wrote that geocities web pages and blogspot blogs hosted on Blogger.com were blocked by some ISPs in India following Government orders.

The issue is getting considerable amount of attention because Google’s Blogger software is the online home of several hundred thousand Indian bloggers.

How do I know if my ISP blocked access to Blogs ?

» Using DOS Ping Tool. Type the following commands in the MS DOS window (Start->Run->Cmd->Enter): ping blogspot.com; ping blogger.com
If your ISP has not restricted access to blogspot site, you should see something like this:

Pinging blogspot.blogger.com [66.102.15.101] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 66.102.15.101: bytes=32 time=329ms TTL=239

Ping statistics for 66.102.15.101:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 294ms, Maximum = 337ms, Average = 323ms

I am Blog Reader. How can I read a blocked blogspot.com site ?

Luckily, there are a ton of alternatives to access restricted websites. Here are some of the most popular workarounds:

1. Use RSS Readers – Open the home page of Newsgator Online, Bloglines or Google Reader and subscribe to the blogger blog rss by typing xxx.blogspot.com/rss.xml or xxx.blogspot.com/atom.xml in the URL field. You’ll be able to see the content because it’s served from the cache of web readers, not from Blogger’s server.

2. Via Email Services Go to Feedblitz or FeedBurner, type the blog address and you will automatically receive the entire blog posts in your email inbox as soon as the blogger posts a story. You will however miss reading the comments.

3. Via Google Translate – Open Google Translate, type the address of the blogspot blog you want to read and select Chinese to English from the language drop-down. The older English-English Google proxy server trick isn’t working anymore. You can also use Google Translate to translate English into Hindi.

4. Via Google Transcoder – Google allows you to read websites on mobile phones using their Transcoder service. You may use the same service to read website on the desktop served via Google .

I am a Blogger and my blog is hosted on a blogspot.com domain. How can I ensure that readers see my blogspot.com blog without interruption ?

Here are a couple of things that may help your blog readers in India, China, Saudi Arabia or Pakistan read your blog even when the local Government has blocked access to the sites:

1. Use Feedburner for syndicating Blog Content [tutorial] – even if the blogspot.com site is blocked, feeds hosted on feedburner will still be accessible.

2. The good news is that while blogspot.com site is blocked, blogger.com is still accessible which means bloggers can create/edit/delete posts or reader comments from the blog control panel. However if the blogger.com site is also blocked, here’s what bloggers can do to administrate their blogs:

» Convert the Blogger.com Hostname to a Numeric IP address (http://66.102.15.100) – Most ISPs block site by name but not by IP address so this should work.

» If the ISP is smart and even blocks the numeric ip address, convert the IP address (66.102.15.100) to a decimal number (1113984868) – Now access the blogger start page by typing http://1113984868

* Looking at the server referral logs, I can see recent traffic from BSNL, Satyam Sify, Airtel Broadband, TouchTel India, VSNL Sancharnet, AsiaNet and Bharti Cellular. However, there are no current referrals from Reliance Infocom, MTNL, Star Hathway and Tata Internet Services which may signal that they are indeed blocking access to blogspot sites.

And here’s a guide for sites in general:

How to access blocked websites like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo at school or office?

This article suggests workarounds to help you unblock access to restricted websites at universities, school and offices.

Background: Blocking access to undesirable Web sites has been a common government tactic but China, Iran, Saudi Arabia are believed to extend greater censorship over the net than any other country in the world.

Most of the blocked or blacklisted sites in Saudi Arabia are about sex, religion, women, health, politics and pop culture. They even block access to websites that sell swimming or bathing suits. In China, websites that talk about sex, Tibet or Democracy are blocked.

Social sites that are often blocked include Google News, Typepad, ebay, Blogger blogs, YouTube, Facebook, Bebo, Myspace, Orkut, MySpace, Pandora, Bebo, Photobucket, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL AIM, Flickr, last.fm, etc.

There are always legitimate reasons to bypass the internet filters and unblock websites. The following tricks will show how to access all websites at school, college, offices or at home.

1: To access blocked website, type the IP number instead of the URL in the browser address bar. However, if your blocking software maps the IP address to the web server (reverse DNS lookup), the website will still remain blocked.

2: Use a URL redirection service like tinyurl.com or snipurl.com. These domain forwarding services sometimes work as the address in the the url box remain the redirect url and do not change to the banned site.

Access Google Talk Chat or GMail in Office

3: Use Google Mobile Search – Google display the normal HTML pages as if you are viewing them on a mobile phone. During the translation, Google removes the javascript content and CSS scripts and breaks a longer page into several smaller pages. Google Mobile

Use Mobile browsers as proxy to open restricted websites

4: Enter the URL in Google or Yahoo search and then visit the cached copy of the page. To retrieve the page more quickly from Google’s cache, click “Cached Text Only” while the browser is loading the page from cache.

5: There are anonymizer websites who will fetch the blocked web page from their servers and display them to you. As far as the service provider is concerned, you are viewing the page on the Anonymizer website and not the blocked site.

6: You can access blocked or restricted websites by using Yahoo Babelfish or Google Translate language tools as a proxy server.

You just have to invoke the Google translate service with the same language pair like English to English. Assuming that Google is accessible in your school, you should be able to access any website with this method – Babelfish Proxy Sever

Unblock restricted websites that require login

7: Anonymous Surfing – Browse the internet via free proxy server. A proxy server (or proxies) is a normal computer that hides the identity of computers on its network from the Internet.

Which means that only the address of the proxy server is visible to the world and not of those computers that are using it to browse the Internet. Just visit any proxy server with your Web browser and enter a URL or the address of the blocked website.

Now I realize the Chinese people probably enjoy being having the CCP treating you like retarded children and think stuff like freedom of speech and human rights are a luxury that can wait but you opened yourselves to the world, so take the heat.

Jerry Yang’s actions soon to be criminal.

Who is Jerry Yang? A westerner who helps totalitarian states oppress and prosecute the press. That’s all he is.

From Wikipedia:

While in China, Shi Tao used a Yahoo email address to notify a pro-democracy website that the Chinese government ordered the Chinese media not to cover the fifteenth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Protests of 1989 on June 4th. Yahoo! provided the Chinese security agencies with the IP addresses of the senders, the recipients and the time of the message. Tao was subsequently convicted for “divulging state secrets abroad.” Yang was heavily criticized and Reporters Without Borders called Yahoo! “a Chinese police informant” whose actions led to the conviction of a journalist and writer.

Jerry Yang declared, “To be doing business in China, or anywhere else in the world, we have to comply with local law[s].” This was controversial, as critics claimed Yahoo! violated international law as well as a 1989 decision by the U.S. Congress to prohibit U.S. companies from selling “crime control and detection” equipment or software to the Chinese Government.

The New York Times reported that political prisoner Wang Xiaoning and other journalists had brought a civil suit against Yahoo for aiding and abetting the Chinese government which resulted in torture that included beatings and imprisonment.

Notice that the Wikipedia article is a joke, like many controversial articles there. It even has a “Redemption” section, what a joke.

But at least something good came out of his immoral actions and a bill that would penalize the aiding of Internet censorship has been introduced in the US House of Representatives.

Shame on you, Jerry Yang.
